Partnership with Standing Stone Coffee Company

As part of my position, I partner with Standing Stone Coffee Company as a part-time manager. Through this partnership, I have connected with so many students I would have never met in the context of campus minister. Through serving students and the community with quality, fair trade coffee and delicious food, I am able to bring them into the process of learning about serving one another, our neighbors, and our Lord with dedication, faithfulness, and creativity.

Our Commitment

The Standing Stone Coffee Company aims to create a unique space for anyone to come, have quality and creative food and drink, share thoughts, listen, learn, and be in community with their neighbor in the area of Huntingdon.

Core Values

We will . . .

  • Welcome everyone and value every relationship
  • Seek excellence in the stewardship of the business
  • See ourselves as a committed part of the larger community
  • Pursue creativity and craftsmanship in the food and drink we prepare

At Standing Stone Coffee Co., we want our customers to have a valued experience every time they step in the door. Whether it be watching us roast our fresh coffee, catching up with an old friend, trying a new daily special, tackling the laundry over the lunch hour, or simply having space to read or study, from the minute you walk in we want you to feel like you have found a second home.

Just A Peek Inside

In this setting of tables and couches, we want this space of bean and books to foster conversation and establish communities throughout the week as well as serve as a welcoming dining and drinking experience. With a warm atmosphere of warm colors, local artwork, comfortable lighting, tasteful music, and wood flooring, the cafe’s contemporary, natural style and ambiance is designed to appeal to many. This space is brought to life when you walk in the door!

Delicious Delights

As it says in the name, coffee is a core part of the establishment. Our in-house roasting provides the highest quality of coffee in your up while also remaining committed to purchasing beans from relationship-based coffee plantations from around the world! The benefit of in-house roasting also serves as  learning opportunity for our guests. As we pursue quality in product and service, we also offer a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options ranging from grilled or toasted sandwiches, salads, soups, and various baked goodies from our local baker. If you’re not into the coffee craze, we also offer Italian sodas, smoothies, milkshakes, and more.

Suds and Steamed Milk

As part of our commitment to serve the community and add a fun novelty to the business, we offer laundry facilities! This sudsy trait is a characteristic from the building prior to the shop. This previous service benefited many college students and Huntingdon residents in the area. It is our hope to offer a space to continue these services to the community while also provided them a space to get good and drink while they wait.

  1. Hi Lindsay!
How are you? My name is Melissa Konowal. I am going to be a senior this year at Juniata, where I am pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurship and Spanish. A good friend of mine, Priscilla Gibboney, told me excitedly about your new business that will soon be opening in Huntingdon! (I am at home for the summer in Philadelphia). As part of my Entrepreneurial studies at Juniata, I started a baking business that specializes in all-natural and organic cookies, which was also funded by JCEL my freshman year. Priscilla was so excited to tell me about Standing Stone Coffee Company because she thinks it will be a great connection between my passion for baking and the community of Huntingdon. I would love to meet with you some time to talk about all of these great things! I will be back in Huntingdon right before the start of classes on August 25th.
If you are looking for an employee, please keep me in mind. I have a lot of experience with new business start-ups, especially in the retail food industry. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

  2. Hi, Lindsay:
I am a faculty at Business department of Juniata. I am teaching intro to business and after a visit to the coffee shop, I wonder are you the owner of the shop? If you are, would you consider to come to my class to talk about your business? I would really appreciate if you can come. Thank you very much.
